A definition of biodynamics – Dawn Rains

“We've come together today this weekend as the fellowship of preparation makers and we are from all over North America and we all love the Earth and we love all of her inhabitants: we love Stones, plants, animals, and other humans. We love working with the soil by day and staring up into the starry heavens by night. We care deeply about the seen and unseen; share love for the biodynamic preparations and we have a common goal; so we come together this weekend to learn from each other, to nourish each other, and to gift each other with a spark through which the good work can be carried.   We're building on the foundation for the renewal of agriculture!

So, as the Earth has reached it's tipping point we're seeing a lot of weather patterns that we're not familiar with anymore, and this is when we need biodynamics! In fact, we need the preparations more than ever!  I was introduced to biodynamics when I found Wolf D Storl’s book “Culture and Horticulture” at a thrift store in a little town of back then it was around 5,000 people… I'd actually like to read your short passage from here. He wrote:

“Biodynamics is also ecologically oriented, that takes a much wider scope into account- including the Sun, the moon, planets and Subterranean features- in its effort to understand the totality of all factors. The mental factor is also considered. Biodynamics is concerned essentially with Consciousness expansion in regard to plants, animals and soil.  The attempt is made to live into the deeper Spirit of nature, out of this deeper awareness based on Exquisite observation of nature.

The approach calls for not letting things run their natural course, but for intensifying certain natural processes. Aiding nature where she is weakened after so many centuries of abuse; short cutting destructive processes and using human intelligence, kindness, and Good Will to Foster positive developments. Biodynamics is a Human Service to the earth and its creatures- not just a method for increasing production or for providing healthy food.

I love that definition of biodynamics.”
